Matatu Drivers- Answers.

1. How are matatu drivers treated in his experience with the BBC?
A/: I think that the matatu drivers experience was developed like a normal day of job, even when it was a full time recorded, because we could see how`s the life, the rout and the relation that the driver create with their passagers, even we could appreciate the danger of their job and the poor remuneration that it has.

2. Do Barranquilleros have the same negative opinion of mototaxistas as the Kenyans have of matatu drivers?
A/: Personally, I think that the oppinion of the Barranquilleros about mototaxitas is pretty similar to the Kenyans have of matatu drivers; in our city, it`s not a secret that many (if not the most) of the accidents occurs because of the imprudence of mototaxistas. Also, a few years ago, mototaxistas were known because they robbed to people after they`ve recieved their paid.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OiGKIO722HA

As we could see in that video, there´s a bunch of situations in which afroamericans are discriminated. Even, we could see the noticiable disadvantage that they had in many aspects, like education and employment.
Also, we had the oportunity to realize that almost 76% of the afrocolombians lives in the poverty, 42% are unemployed, and only two of each hundred have the chance of get college´s education, in the same line, in the video show that the illiteracy is strongly present in that community.
But, that video also show that some organizations have been working against those situations, and have strongly fight for their rights, offering them opportunities to get jobs and school education.
