1. Why was Barranquilla chosen?
Barranquilla was chosen as the Cultural Capital
of 2013, because Xavier Tudela, the president of "Bureau Internacional de
Capitales Culturales", was in shock with his visit to the city, because according
of what he said, the city has an amazing interest in culture but overall has
positivism and shows a lot of international projection (As all of us know, we can see this projection in events like the Carnaval and many others festivities that make people of differents countries come to visit our city).

Will Barranquilla receive any of the economic benefits
Liverpool hoped to from being named a cultural capital?
No, but Barranquilla will recive a huge promotion on international medias through
different types of chanels that Bereau has connections with, chanels like
"Discovery Networks" y "Antena 3 from Spain", because of that promotion the city could recieve many others benefits, including monetary benefits.
